Week 2
Week 2 was way less stressful than week 1 and we had a game on the weekend so we had
something to look forward to.  We lifted 5 days a week again in the afternoon, going from
Sunday to Thursday.  We rested on Friday before the game on Saturday.

One night this week we went to eat at a place called CityKebab, or something like that.  They
sell kebabs which are pretty popular here in Finland.  A kebab over here is a little different than
my perception of it over in the US.  When I think of kebab, I think of different kinds of meat and
vegetables on a stick.  Over here a kebab is some kind of meat, I think Kimi said it is lamb's
meat with hot or mild sauce on top mixed in with salad on top.  Then all of that is wrapped in pita
bread.  The meat looks really gross, but it is awesome.  The whole thing is pretty good together
and might be our favorite meal over here.  There are kebab stores about every 50 yards or so.
In these kebab places they also sell pizza.  We ate at City Kebab because Kimi got us a discount
there, so thanks Kimi!  I also ate part of a kebab with Thomas at a place not too far from our
apartment on Sunday night.  They also don't cost too much, about 6 Euros.

We ate at McDonalds once as well. My meal was 7 Euros and Scott got 2 quarter pounders, a
6 piece nugget, and a water for 10.60 Euros!!! Are you kidding me?!?!?!?!

We also saw the movie
The Day After Tomorrow.  It was a decent movie with some good
special effects but had a sappy story line to it.  The movie is the same movie as in the US and it is
still in English, but it has Finnish subtitles at the bottom.  Another thing that is different from the
US, is that you have assigned seats in the movie theater.  It was pretty crazy, but the movie
theater was bigger than any one that I have seen in the States.  So I could understand why they
have assigned seats.  It felt like we were at a Reds game looking for our seats.

There have been questions from back home about the rules of football here in Finland.  Even
though some leagues around the world have different rules in football, our league and all the
leagues in Finland have the same rules.  The football in Finland goes by NCAA rules.

By the way I won the Super Bowl in our first season of Madden 2004 on Playstation 2.  I was
the Bengals.  In other news, Scott's Bears didn't make the playoffs.

We have another bye week this weekend, because it is midsummer where the sun is out the
longest of any day here in Finland.  They said that the sun won't go down at all so we will have
light all night long.  Scott and I are heading up to a city called Rauma with Thomas and some
other players for a big music festival at the end of this week (week 3) so I will tell you all about
the biggest festival in Finland when we get back and I'll have pictures as well.  I also might be
spending a few days with our head coach Tomi at his house in Pori and play golf for a few days
once my clubs get here.  I let you know about the courses here as well.
