Game 10 vs. Rome Renegades
There was a different feel in the locker room before the game.  I wasn't really nervous at all, which is pretty unusual for me.  The locker room felt confident.  The last game down in Fayetteville was so far from the normal for us, wearing purple jerseys and not our own equipment.  I think another big reason we were really ready for this game is that we were playing at home for the first time in over a month.  Our fans are the greatest here and they really help out a tremendous bit, getting loud and cheering just in the right spots.

After this game with Rome, we have 4 games left, but only one is at home.  If we take care of business we can get a home game in the playoffs.  That would be huge.  Coach Wells gave a good pre-game speech where he read parts of Paul Daughtery's article a few days before poking fun of us.  (

This really helped build our excitment for the game.  It was the first real pre-game speech we had gotten since our first game versus Beumont by Coach Biles.

Anyway, I already told you the outcome of the game we beat Rome by 10 points.  We had a really energetic game.  Everyone was bouncing off the walls during the game.  That is exactly how you have to play indoor football.  You have to play it with a lot of excitement and without hesitation.  That is exactly how we played against Rome.

It was a relatively low scoring game 43-33.  Our defense really stepped up and played a good game, anytime you can keep a team in the 30's is a good defensive game in the NIFL.

Our passing attack was more controlled, which means I had a higher percentage but didn't go down the field as much.  I finished 20-30 for 177 yards with 0 TDs and 0 ints.

Askew did the bulk of the scoring with 4 TDs on the ground with 37 yards rushing.  However, we started to get some banged up bodies.  Daniels our MLB got hurt in the game so did his fellow Miamian Samuels.  Jeff Jourdan didn't play because of a sprained MCL.  WR Dan Fry also got hurt going over the wall for a deep pass.

Good win overall; next we got to St. Louis to play River City.
