Cincinnati Marshals
January 26, 2005

Well it has been quite a while since I posted on the website, so it is about time I do so.  I knew coming back from a long break from the website, I had to come back with a bang, so I did.

On Monday, I signed with the indoor team the
Cincinnati Marshals.  The Marshals are a team in the National Indoor Football League.  The team moved from Waco, Texas, to Cincinnati.  They announced that they were going to have a team in the first week of December, so it is still fairly new.

The head coach is Ed Biles who used to be the head coach of the Houston Oilers from 1981-1983 and our offensive coordinator played for Vince Lambardi.  So we will have plenty of NFL experience on our coaching staff which is always a good thing.

The league that I am in is very similar to the Arena League, but is not apart of that league.  Everything is pretty much the same except for a few tiny rules.  There are no nets in the endzones (when you kickoff you can't kick it out of bounds or our of the endzone or it is a penalty).  Also another rule difference is that the players do not have to play both ways, but they can.  The league website is
www.nationalindoorfootballleague.net.

I got some looks from a bunch of different teams in a few different leagues but this one seemed to be the right fit because they were looking for a QB and it is only about 10 minutes from my house.  Other teams that were giving me some strong looks were the Evansville Bluecats in the United Indoor Football League and the Souix City Bandits also of that same league.

Right now, I'm the only QB that the Marshals have, but there will be one or two more QB's joining the roster for mini-camp.

Currently I'm still working at the radio station Q102 doing some promotions, but I'm also working out hard.  I workout 2 times a day 5 days a week with an agent here in town.  He has guys coming from colleges all around the United States to workout and get ready to go to the NFL.  So it is cool to workout with guys that you see playing on TV and will probably playing in the NFL next year.  Needless to say they are working our tails off.

Now I'm waiting for Mini-camp to start with the Marshals.  That should be starting up here in a few weeks.  Our first game is March 26th at home.  In fact, 5 of our first 6 games are at home.  We play in the U.S. Bank Arena in downtown Cincinnati.
