Game 6 vs. Wolverines
July 24

Scott and I were in Pori for the Pori Jazz festival and we stayed at our coach's house on Friday night.  So even though we had a home game, it almost felt like an away game because we had to drive an hour and a half back to Turku in the afternoon.  It was pouring down rain in Pori, but we were hoping that it wasn't raining in Turku.

When we got to the field it wasn't raining, but the field was really soaked.  It feels we have played in nothing but slop over here, since the field has been wet for our last 4 games or so.

The Wolverines haven't won a game in 2 years.  So we kinda knew what we were in for before the game.  Their players really aren't that bad but I think their team confidence is down because they haven't won in two years.  We ended up winning 70-6.

They hung in there for a bit but we pulled away pretty quickly once we got moving.  There is really not much to say about this game.  Juha caught 3 TDs and dropped another.  He is getting married this coming weekend.  So congrats to him, he was also the MVP of the game.  Yesterday was Antti's birthday so we tried to get him a TD in the second half, but he had to settle for a 60+ yard pass reception to inside the 10.  He had a TD eariler in the game go right through his hands which is surprising because he doesn't miss many passes.  All in all he played a great game on his birthday.

Satola is crazy.  First of all, we were up 27-0.  Then on the extra point he decides he is going to fake it himself and run it in for the two point conversion.  The coaches didn't call it at all, he just decided he wanted to get his name in the paper I guess.  Then later on in the game, he tried another lateral when we were already up 50+ points.  But this time the other team got it.  He had the first down, so I don't know why he tried to pitch it.

Klaus was getting double teamed all day, so he only had two catches.  However, that opened up the outside for the other receivers.  Thomas got back on the running back track.  He finished the day with 3 TDs rushing and averaged about 10 yards per carry.

Scott had about 6 or 7 tackles, 2 for loss in the first half.  However, Teemu who was doing the stats didn't get any of the first half tackles, so who knows how many he will get credit for.  He also got a rushing TD this week on the goal line.

As for myself, it took me a while to get going but I ended up 29-41, 462 yards, with 4 TDs.  We did have another interception though.  Once again through our receivers hands and into the air, but the ball was pretty wet so I wasn't too upset about it.  I also had 21 yards rushing, which is unusual for me.

We really didn't have to throw the ball that much, but we used yesterday's game as practice too.  Since not everyone can make it to practice all the time, the game is one time where we have everyone.  So we were working on some plays that are going used in upcoming gmaes.

That stats aren't posted yet, because they are trying to get those straightened out, but I will post them when they are up.

We have a bye week coming up before we play the 3rd place Crocs again.
